We met this fellow...
...on our first Single Malt Society trip, the Scotland Jaunt in 2017. Our custom itinerary struck the perfect balance of history, culture, and geography. Featuring stops at castles, cathedrals, museums, monuments, historical sites, scenic wonders, and — of course — distilleries, we explored all that Scotland has to offer.
We've now organized three fun travel adventures! The Society organized a second successful Scotland excursion in 2023, and we visited the Republic of Ireland in 2025. We're currently planning a club trip to Northern Ireland, slated for Summer 2027.
The task of arranging the details of the Society's journeys is placed in the capable hands of Go Ahead Tours, one of the nation's largest travel companies and which conducts tours on all seven continents. They carefully consider the details of our itinerary to ensure the best possible travel experience.
Once our trips are underway, a dedicated Tour Director accompanies us every step of the way to make sure all goes to plan. A private motor coach and professional driver assures us of arriving safely and in comfort.

"The Scotland Jaunt arranged by Kirk and Carol and Go Ahead Tours was an amazing trip.
It was so well organized that we were able to relax and enjoy Scotland without any worries. There was ample time to go and adventure on your own.
The guide and driver from Go Ahead were equally awesome. This was by far one of my most favorite vacations."

"Though we weren’t members of the Scotch Club, my husband and I went on the 2017 tour and had a wonderful time.
We were warmly welcomed by the other tour members, some of whom also did not know each other prior to the trip. The tour was well organized., and the tour leader was very knowledgeable and witty.
It was a great trip with lovely people!"

"Traveling to Ireland with the Single Malt Society was an unforgettable experience. Carol and Kirk put together an incredible itinerary full of unique moments and thoughtful touches.
From sipping whiskey at Pearse Lyons to touring the Waterford Crystal factory and spending our last night in Cabra Castle, every day brought something special.
We appreciated the balance of planned activities and free time to explore, which made the trip feel relaxed and enriching. The camaraderie of the group, paired with our fantastic guide Sorcha, made it all the more memorable.
I highly recommend joining the next one for anyone who loves history, culture, food, and, of course, whiskey!"

"The Single Malt Society's Emerald Isle Adventure in 2025 was such a fun and well-organized trip with an amazing group of travelers!
All of the trip's activities were very thoughtfully planned, showcasing the rich history of Ireland, Irish distilleries, and breweries, with plenty of free time as well.
Our tour guide and bus driver for the week were extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. There was so much care and effort put in by our wonderful hosts, which really showed during the trip, as we had no hiccups or delays.
10 out of 10 — I would highly recommend this trip."

"This trip far exceeded my expectations...it was the perfect mix of sightseeing, castles, museums, and distilleries.
Our Tour Director was excellent, very accommodating to individual and group needs. Go Ahead Tours did a great job in handling all of the arrangements.
I would highly recommend this trip, and am looking forward to a return visit."

"I feel people use the phrase “once-in-a-lifetime” a little too often, but the Single Malt Society's Scotland Jaunt was really something very special.
Our trip was carefully thought out and perfectly balanced. We never felt rushed, and even managed to sneak in some attractions not on the itinerary.
The only downside is now I want to go back to Scotland!"

"Carol sets up an excellent itinerary. As a seasoned Ireland traveler, I was impressed with the selection of unique stops and nice hotels off of the beaten path. The Rock of Cashel, Bru Na Boinne ancient tombs, Pearse Lyons distillery, and Cabra castle were all places I would have never seen if I did not go on this tour!
Kirk and Carol also do a commendable job of including’ all tour attendees during the trip. This soft skill is tricky because we all have our own trip wants and needs. They do well at quick visits at breakfast, during tour stops, and in the evenings, to hear everyone’s thoughts and comments as the tour progresses.
I highly recommend joining them on future scotch club tours."

"If you travel with The Single Malt Society, you’ll have one of the most carefully planned trips of your life.
This wasn’t my first group travel experience, but it was certainly the most special. We ate well, rested comfortably, and discovered corners of Ireland we would never have found on our own.
With Carol’s planning and talent for handling the details, we always had something to look forward to. I’m still amazed at how she manages to weave so many experiences into a single week without it ever feeling rushed.
And with Sorcha as our guide — wow, we got lucky! She always seemed to know exactly when we’d need a break, a little snack, a story, or even a song."

"Between the planning by Kirk and Carol and the execution by Go Ahead Tours, the journey was the perfect mix of castles, cathedrals, and distilleries.
With 17 travelers and a full-sized coach, there was plenty of room to stretch out and mingle with the rest of the tour group.
It was an amazing trip, and we look forward to details of the upcoming adventure."

"Kirk and Carol did a wonderful job of planning the Scotland trip itinerary.
My wife and I were welcomed and quickly felt at home with the members of the Scotch Club, and we have now spent time with several of them socially since our return from the tour.
We enjoyed being a part of the Single Malt Society’s experience of Scotland."

"As an experienced Irish tour director, I’m very familiar with the usual highlights and well-trodden paths around the country — but the itinerary Carol and Kirk designed was something truly special.
Each stop along the way felt carefully considered and deeply interesting. It was clear that a great deal of thought, research, and passion had gone into the planning. Everything felt tailor-made and thoughtfully curated, from the unique experiences to the charming hotel near Limerick, which I particularly loved.
And the group was an absolute joy to lead: curious, respectful, and genuinely engaged — they brought such a great energy to the journey and made the entire experience even more rewarding."
